Why do people fight?
February 22, 2013
"Mommy! Is fighting bad?" a little girl asked her mother as they walked holding hands
over the lush green grass in the garden.
"Yes dear, it's bad to
fight," mother replied looking at her curious daughter with a pride.
“Then why do people fight?”
"People fight for injustice.
They fight for something they believe they deserve," mother answered as she sat
on her knees holding her daughter’s little hands.
"Are they bad men who
fight?"
"No honey, fighting for
justice is not bad, not fighting is."
"Then are those bad men, who don’t
give other people what they deserve?"
“No dear, there are no bad
men. They are just selfish thieves. They steal someone's right and keep things
to themselves they don't deserve," she looked in to her eyes as she tried to
answer her curiosity.
"What if they don’t know
what they are stealing?"
"Well, that is why people
fight, to stand up for what they deserve and let other people know about
it."
"Then how it is that
fighting is bad?" daughter asked with confusion in her young eyes.
"Honey, People fight less
for their rights than for their interest, which is bad. Sometimes we deserve something
but we don’t get it. But we need not always fight. We can change some things, some
we can't. We have to let go off such things and work on things we can change.
Fighting is only good when one fights for one's principles."
"I don't understand Mommy,
is fighting bad then?"
"Yes dear, it is."
"Okay, so it’s bad. I
though so Mommy!" as she smiled mother hugged her and kissed her
innocent face.
