No reasons to love!
May 24, 2011Once upon a time, there, in a distant rainy forest, was a beautiful life with numerous green plants, colorful flowers, singing rivers, loving birds and kind animals. In an area in the forest, abundant with light and prosperity, various birds lived peacefully. And there lived a young lady lovebird with beautiful light-green feathers. She was effervescent nubile with numerous lovable ways. Her beautiful spark filled eyes always showcased affection. Above all, she sang with her angelic voice to make nature more pleasant. Everybody loved her.
Aha… there came a lovebird mate from a faraway place. With her sparkling nature, he couldn't escape but fall in love with her. With time he realized that she is his soul mate and could not imagine a way to live without her. The time matured and love grew leaps and bounds. When his little heart could not hold the delicate emotions of loving her, he decided to ask her to spend life together. Every bird in the forest vouched for his love, every animal agreed his decision.
The previous day, the dolphin in the river raised eyebrows and threw sarcastic smiles and then winked at him to propose her. Flowers breathed soft and blushed aloud...Lake smiled with glimmering eyes and waved him the luck...that night moon was brighter, smiling so aloud, how did he come to know? Lovebird wondered.
With sweet morning dew his wings were wet...he flew from his silken net........he always loved to sit and hear her sing and then fly in the sky with his golden wing. Today is the day of love, he thought. The moment came and he poured his heart out for her. Lady bird, enamored, asked him the reason why he loves her so dearly. He just had one answer that she lives within him; she is his breath, his soul mate and he doesn't need a reason to love her.
But the playful lady bird wasn't impressed. She was beautiful, she was charming and she sang beautiful songs, the reason, she told, why everyone loves her and that he did not mention them. He felt sad and reassured her that he loves her for no reason and for him that same no reason is worth dying for.
In taking his reason so lightly, she made a mistake to test his love. She asked him, if he can do anything for those ‘no reasons,’ then he should prove his love. His heart sank and filled with melancholy. She dared him to fly highest possible in the sky and drop down in her nest, but without spreading his wings. Wasn't it a death? So be it, he thought....without blinking eyes, without looking at her, he took a flight in the sky....Did she just miss a heartbeat, she realized, but it was already late and the lovebird was in the sky.
In few moments he was on the ground, conscious lost, wings withered, feathers bloodied and breathing almost stopped. She couldn't believe what she just did and took longer time to come to reality. Every bird was appalled to see the way love has come to an end. She kept him in her nest and kept crying and trying to wake him up. There was a little for her to do, except for waiting to see if he comes back to life.
Moments turned in to hours and hours in days, she stopped singing. With every drop of water she fed her unconscious lovebird, her love grew stronger. She could not imagine living without him.
She came to know by old birds that if he smells a flower, there are rare chances that he will come to life. But bringing that little flower is next to impossible task, especially for a ladybird. The little flower was found on a shrub on icy peaks of north, a faraway place where nobody ever went. Without knowing whether it will help, she decided to take a chance and bring that little flower for him. She asked others to take care of her love till she returns and she set off for the flower.
Many days, sand storms, scorching heat, and dense forest made the little lovebird suffer worst of her life. But she was determined to have that flower. When she reached north, it was worst part of her journey. Snow storms, ice flakes and chilling wind almost killed her. Her tender feathers were withered...her color was no brighter and she looked starved. Finally, when she had it, her happiness made her regain enough energy to come back and save the life of her love.
By the time she returned, she was no more same ladybird. Her eyes lost the spark, her wings lost the tenderness, her bright color faded and she could not sing anymore.
When he smelled the flower, flower did its effect and he slowly opened his eyes. She felt the wave of happiness but she knew that she has lost him as she has lost herself. After a while when he regained energy, she asked him the same question, to spend life with her, and that now she doesn't have those beautiful feathers, those magic eyes, bright colors, and she is unable to sing, but she loves him.
Lovebird smiled and said, “I never loved you for those reasons, for one day these reasons will cease to exist, but then, I will not stop loving you. That is the reason why I love you for no reasons!”
